The Pivot XD is Kuat’s heavy-duty swing-away hitch, engineered for serious hauling with a substantial 350 lb load capacity. • 350 LB. weight capacity: Built to handle serious loads, the Pivot XD supports up to 350 pounds – a substantial 40% increase over the V2’s 250 lb capacity. This heavy-duty rating means you can confidently carry multiple bikes, larger cargo boxes, or heavier equipment without worry. But distance matters with the Pivot XD. The farther the weight is from the hitch, the more torque is applied, which limits how much weight or how many bikes can be safely carried. Kuat racks are limited to 3 bikes (maximum 250 lbs), and all other bike racks or cargo systems should follow the distance-to-weight guidelines: Up to 28″ (from the accessory’s hitch-pin hole to the furthest point): 350 lbs max total weight 28–40″ (from the accessory’s hitch-pin hole to the furthest point): 250 lbs max total weight Refer to the Pivot XD’s Loading Capacity Guide (below) to learn more.
